An area AISC Certified Steel Erector is seeking a Steel Estimator to add to their growing team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of five years of experience in the steel industry and familiarity with the AISC Standards. This position is crucial for the company as it involves estimating costs and resources for steel erection projects, ensuring that all estimates are accurate and competitive. The Steel Estimator will work closely with project managers and other stakeholders to gather necessary information and provide detailed estimates that align with project specifications and budgets. The Steel Estimator will also be responsible for analyzing project plans and specifications, preparing quantity take-offs, and developing cost estimates for labor, materials, and equipment. Strong communication skills are essential, as the estimator will need to present estimates to clients and collaborate with general contractors and suppliers. The role may require on-site visits during the initial training period, which is expected to last a couple of months, after which the position has the potential to become fully remote. Compensation for travel and lodging during this training phase will be provided. In addition to technical skills, the ideal candidate should possess excellent problem-solving abilities and project management skills, including project planning, risk management, and time management.
