About the position
The Steel Processor position involves operating various machines and equipment to prepare steel wire for manufacturing according to customer specifications. The role requires adherence to safety protocols and quality standards while ensuring efficient production processes.
Responsibilities
- Operate machinery in accordance with prints and specifications.
- Process the required quantity of coils within established specifications and tolerances.
- Measure and visually inspect finished parts with precision tools to ensure compliance with function, quality, and cosmetic specifications.
- Maintain logs and records of units produced, including records of errors resulting in rejected or discarded pieces.
- Inspect equipment prior to use to ensure proper setup and alignment.
- Perform basic maintenance and routine adjustments on machinery.
- Monitor and react to safety alarms during operation.
- Operate HiLo and Overhead Crane (In House Certification Provided).
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Ability to follow written directions and work well in a team.
- Thorough understanding of or ability to quickly learn production equipment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Understanding of and ability to abide by applicable OSHA and environmental regulations.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Must score 60% or higher on a Bennett Mechanical Test.
