The Steel Production Worker position at Raco Steel Company involves working on the production floor of a steel service plant, where employees will be responsible for various tasks related to the processing of steel coils. Responsibilities

• Load and unload trucks
• Move and stack materials
• Assist machine operators and production floor management as requested
• Perform a variety of operations within the department to maintain the flow of work, such as staging material as needed in a timely manner
• Package slit steel coils, cut blanks or leveled sheets on pallets by securely banding and wrapping as required
• General housekeeping duties in the warehouse and production areas
• Follow current good, safe warehousing practice, keeping department organized and clean
• Perform other duties as assigned
• Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Requirements

• Experience in steel warehouse or steel manufacturing (1 year required)
• High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
• Ability to lift 50 lbs
• Must pass physical and drug screen, as well as background check

Nice-to-haves

• Forklift operator certification (desirable but not required)
• Experience operating a forklift in a steel warehouse (desirable but not necessary)
