About the position
The Sterile Processing Technician at UTMB Health is responsible for preparing, assembling, maintaining, and transporting surgical trays, instruments, and equipment. This role ensures that all items are processed according to established protocols and are ready for use in surgical procedures.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and assemble surgical trays and instruments according to established tray listings.
- Maintain and transport surgical instruments and equipment.
- Ensure proper sterilization and storage of surgical items.
- Follow safety and infection control protocols during processing.
- Assist in inventory management of surgical supplies.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Preferred six months of related experience in sterile processing or a similar field.
