About the position

The Staff Pad is seeking a dedicated and skilled Sterile Processing Technician to join our client's surgical team in Las Vegas, New Mexico. This role involves assisting in patient care under the direction of a Registered Nurse (RN), managing surgical instruments and supplies, and ensuring the maintenance of a sterile field during surgical procedures. The ideal candidate will possess a thorough understanding of surgical procedures and will be committed to providing high-quality patient care during operations.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the care of patients under the direction of an RN, ensuring their safety and comfort throughout the surgical procedure.
• Handle surgical instruments, supplies, and equipment, ensuring they are readily available and properly maintained.
• Understand the surgical procedure being performed and anticipate the needs of the surgeon to ensure a smooth and efficient operation.
• Maintain a vigilant watch over the sterile field, ensuring strict adherence to aseptic techniques and infection control protocols.
• Work closely with the surgical team, including surgeons, anesthesiologists, and nurses, to provide seamless and effective patient care.
• Ensure quality patient care during operative procedures, contributing to positive patient outcomes.
• Accurately document surgical procedures and patient information as required.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Graduation from a Certified Sterile Processing Technician program is preferred.
• Experience as a Sterile Processing Technician, preferably in a hospital setting.
• Current CRCST certification is preferred.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
