About the position

The Sterile Processing Technician is responsible for the sterilization and decontamination of all instrumentation and equipment used in various healthcare settings, including operating rooms, endoscopy, nursing units, and clinics. This role ensures that all items are processed according to recognized standards, contributing to the overall safety and effectiveness of patient care.

Responsibilities

• Perform sterilization and decontamination of instrumentation and equipment.
• Ensure compliance with current recognized and approved standards for sterilization.
• Process items used in the operating room, endoscopy, nursing units, and clinics.
• Participate in a 3-month in-house training program.
• Participate in weekend on-call rotation.

Requirements

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• One year of healthcare experience preferred.
• CPSPD Certification preferred, with the opportunity to pursue upon hire.
• Working knowledge of general infection control practices preferred.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated moderate knowledge of basic computer skills.
