About the position

The Air Logistics Aerospace Business Development Manager at Kuehne+Nagel is responsible for identifying and securing new sales leads and opportunities within a national territory. This role involves managing customer accounts, developing sales strategies, and ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction while representing the organization at senior levels during customer visits and events.

Responsibilities

• Manage customer accounts, relationships, and agreements on a global basis.
• Develop specific sales strategies on an account level and ensure execution for urgent deliveries globally.
• Communicate with customers at a senior level to assess satisfaction and address critical situations with at-risk accounts.
• Coordinate company personnel involvement to meet account performance objectives and customer expectations.
• Proactively assess, clarify, and validate customer needs on an ongoing basis.
• Lead solution development efforts to address customer needs, coordinating necessary company personnel.
• Maintain high customer satisfaction ratings that meet company standards.
• Attend customer functions/events to secure positive relations with customers.
• Provide timely operational assistance to customers, including routings, escalations, quotes, and communication.
• Develop and maintain knowledge of competitive products and market activity, providing regular reports.
• Build and maintain trusted relationships with key airport and aviation clients in the region.
• Focus on making customers, both internal and external, a primary focus of attention.
• Report regularly to management on progress against targets.
• Forecast sales and manage the sales pipeline.

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience in a field sales or business development environment.
• 5+ years of freight forwarding and logistics industry experience.
• 2+ years of experience in aerospace, aviation, or general air logistics experience.
• BA/BS or equivalent work experience.
• Group leadership skills.
• Computer proficiency in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
