About the position

The Steward/Dishwasher is responsible for maintaining cleanliness in the kitchen and dining areas, ensuring the availability of clean dishes, and supporting the kitchen team by cleaning and restocking equipment and work areas. This role requires efficiency, attention to detail, and adherence to safety and sanitation standards to support smooth operations in the Food & Beverage department.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the availability of clean dishes by bussing tables, washing dishes, pots, pans, and flatware, and resetting dining areas.
• Sweep, scrub, and mop the entire kitchen floor, maintaining a clean workspace.
• Soak and scrub all cutting boards, pots, and pans to remove stains.
• Clean and sanitize all bus pans, coffee cups, glassware, dishware, and silverware.
• Ensure proper handling and storage of all kitchen equipment, maintaining cleanliness and organization.
• Remove trash and boxes regularly throughout the shift, and ensure disposal areas are clean.
• Mop walk-ins and keep floors swept throughout and at the end of each shift.
• Prepare dining areas and kitchen for the next shift by cleaning and restocking.
• Comply with safety and sanitation standards to ensure a safe work environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management to support kitchen operations.

Requirements

• Knowledge of safety, sanitation, and accident prevention principles.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Must be able to obtain a Health Card and understand Serve Safe requirements.
• Familiarity with kitchen equipment and its standard usage.
• Must be able to stand, stoop, lift, and bend for an eight-hour period.
• Ability to lift and carry a minimum of 50 lbs., with or without assistance.
