About the position
The Stewarding Supervisor at Loews Portofino Bay Hotel is responsible for overseeing the cleanliness, organization, safety, and production within the stewarding department. This role involves supervising a team of 15-25 staff members, ensuring that work assignments are completed efficiently and within specified time constraints. The position requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of service and safety.
Responsibilities
- Supervise a team of 15-25 staff members and coordinate work assignments.
- Monitor completion of daily work assignments and ensure timely execution.
- Interact with culinary, banquet, and other outlet managers to fulfill their needs.
- Assist in maintaining all equipment and notify engineering of repairs needed.
- Train staff and periodically appraise their abilities through practical exercises.
- Ensure all banquet functions are properly set with sufficient equipment and stewarding responsibilities are met on time.
- Maintain compliance with local health department regulations and safety codes.
- Assist in completing quarterly inventories and monitor daily activities such as dish machine monitoring and chemical counts.
- Attend daily BEO meetings and prepare BEO setup sheets in advance.
- Execute emergency procedures in accordance with hotel standards.
Requirements
- Ability to read and write in English.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Strong guest service skills.
- Previous stewarding experience within a large volume hotel is highly preferred.
- Ability to work a fully flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
- Ability to push, pull, and/or lift 40+ lbs.
