About the position

The Dietary Aide at Kintegra Health plays a crucial role in supporting the dietary and food service operations within the Adult Day Health Center. This position involves assisting with food preparation, maintaining sanitation standards, and ensuring that the dietary needs of the frail elderly population are met under the guidance of the Dietary Manager. The role emphasizes teamwork, communication, and adherence to health protocols.

Responsibilities

  • Assists with ordering food and supplies.
  • Assists with updating diet cards when changes occur as directed by the Dietary Manager.
  • Knowledge and preparation of diet modifications as needed (i.e. soft, pureed thickened liquids, etc.).
  • Assists with daily monitoring and recording of temperature logs (refrigerator, freezer, dishwasher, food, etc.).
  • Assists with taking inventory, ordering, and restocking kitchen supplies.
  • Assists with the daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning of kitchen appliances per the ADHC standards.
  • Assists with preparing the dining area for lunch service to participants.
  • Assists with serving lunch in appropriate portion sizes.
  • Assists with recording temperature range and completes forms when food arrives at the center from the hospital.
  • Knows of the process to contact the hospital food service department if temps are not in range.
  • Assists with monitoring food preferences and plate waste.
  • Supports Senior TLC's mission to encourage and support the quality of life of seniors wishing to continue living in the community.
  • Assists with other duties as determined by the dietary manager.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • At least 24 months' experience working with the frail elderly population.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain high sanitation and personal hygiene levels.
  • Ability to bend, lift, squat and push items up to 50 pounds using proper body mechanics.
  • Ability to read, follow instructions and fulfill responsibilities within the designated time frame.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in food service preferred, but not required.
