About the position

The STNA (State Tested Nurse Aide) position at Independence House is primarily focused on providing direct care to residents under the supervision of licensed nursing staff. The role involves assisting with personal needs, ensuring resident comfort, and adhering to established standards and regulations. The STNA is expected to demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary for effective resident care, communicate effectively with the nursing team, and maintain a safe and supportive environment for residents.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate knowledge and skill necessary to provide care appropriate to the needs of the residents served.
• Provide direct resident care and room preparation as directed by the nursing staff.
• Communicate ordering needs to inventory personnel to restock resident care supplies as needed.
• Perform all other duties as assigned by supervisor.
• Display service excellence and emulate the standards of behavior to promote resident satisfaction.
• Comply with organizational policies, procedures, and practices to ensure quality job performance and regulatory compliance.

Requirements

• Meet the minimum required age of 16 years old.
• Active registry as a State Tested Nurse Aide with the State of Ohio.
• Positive service-oriented interpersonal and communication skills required.
• Demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the needs of the residents served.
• Basic knowledge of the principles related to the aging adult and problems associated with aging.
• Ability to assess data reflective of the resident status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each resident's needs.
