About the position

Carter's, Inc. is seeking a part-time Stock Associate for their Mansfield, Ohio location. This position is temporary and plays a crucial role in supporting the store team with various tasks related to shipping and receiving, stockroom organization, inventory control, and housekeeping activities. The Stock Associate will work closely with the store team to execute the replenishment process, ensuring that customer service and product placement standards are met. The role requires a strong customer focus, adherence to safety regulations, and a commitment to maintaining a clean and organized store environment. The Stock Associate will assist in creating an exceptional shopping experience by effectively organizing the stockroom and managing the flow of merchandise to the sales floor. Responsibilities include monitoring safety policies, contributing to customer service efforts, and ensuring that the store meets company standards for presentation. The position also involves driving store results through proper organization of stockroom areas, conducting markdown audits for accurate pricing, and ensuring product availability on the sales floor. In addition to these responsibilities, the Stock Associate will coach team members on best practices for shipment, sales floor replenishment, and markdown strategies. Effective communication with the team and fostering a positive work environment for both customers and staff are essential components of this role. The position requires physical stamina, as associates must be able to lift up to 40 pounds regularly, stand for long periods, and perform tasks that involve frequent bending and reaching.

Responsibilities

  • Provide support for all aspects of shipping and receiving.
  • Organize stockroom and manage inventory control.
  • Maintain a neat, clean, and organized store environment.
  • Assist in creating an exceptional shopping experience through effective merchandise flow.
  • Drive store results by ensuring timely flow of merchandise to the sales floor.
  • Conduct markdown audits to ensure accurate pricing of items.
  • Ensure product availability on the sales floor through in-stock audits.
  • Coach team members on best practices for shipment and replenishment processes.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and management.
  • Foster a positive work environment for customers and staff.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Minimum of 1-3 years of stock/logistics experience.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers, team, and supervisor.
  • Retail/specialty apparel knowledge and experience preferred.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks concurrently.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in retail or specialty apparel environments.
