About the position

The Stock Associate at The Room Place is responsible for maintaining the store's inventory and ensuring a clean and orderly environment. This role involves handling incoming and outgoing merchandise, assisting with visual displays, and maintaining safety and security standards. The position emphasizes teamwork, communication, and attention to detail, contributing to a positive customer experience.

Responsibilities

• Maintain logs for shipping and receiving of merchandise.
• Ensure the backroom is neat and orderly, securing receiving doors when not in use.
• Attend regularly scheduled training sessions.
• Discard trash and store tools and equipment properly.
• Keep fire lanes clear and ensure washrooms and entrances are safe and clean.
• Assist Visual Display staff with floor moves and merchandise setup.
• Print tags for merchandise and maintain store signage in a timely manner.
• Load and unload merchandise safely and properly.
• Document and receive direct vendor and DC shipments accurately.
• Organize merchandise for pick-up and transfer, ensuring proper labeling and wrapping.
• Assist with special events and new store openings as needed.
• Prepare and maintain logs of merchandise in the stockroom.

Requirements

• Knowledge of store line-up and cycle counts.
• Capability to lift and transport loads exceeding 75lbs.
