About the position

As a Stocker/Cashier, you will play a vital role in our mission by ensuring that our Pet Care Center operates efficiently and effectively. This position is part-time and requires flexibility, including evenings and weekends as needed. You will be responsible for maintaining inventory, stocking shelves, and providing excellent customer service at the cash register. Your passion for animal welfare will be essential as you support the health and care of pets in our store. You will also engage with guests to create a welcoming environment and promote a positive culture of teamwork and collaboration among your colleagues. Your role will involve adhering to operational guidelines and completing various tasks to ensure a great experience for our guests and their pets. We believe in empowering our employees through training programs that enhance their skills and knowledge, allowing for career growth within the company.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and manage inventory across the Pet Care Center.
  • Ensure merchandise is properly stocked, priced, and displayed for guests.
  • Process register transactions to create a positive guest experience.
  • Support guest interactions and exhibit proficiency in the selling model.
  • Promote animal welfare and adhere to animal care procedures.
  • Complete training programs to maintain expertise in the role.
  • Foster a culture of teamwork, inclusion, and collaboration.
  • Adhere to operational guidelines, policies, and procedures.
  • Evaluate guest inquiries and refer to the Leader on Duty as needed.
  • Engage in special projects and other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Minimum high school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Proficiency in mathematics and basic accounting relationships.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and interpersonal.
  • Genuine interest in animal care and welfare.
  • Ability to maintain a professional appearance and demeanor.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a retail environment.
  • Supervisory experience (not required but preferred).
