About the position

The Stockhandler position at Eversource Energy involves warehousing and stocking various materials while maintaining accurate inventory records. The role requires physical strength and the ability to operate material handling equipment, including forklifts and hand trucks. The selected candidate will be responsible for preloading and packing materials, unloading items, and coordinating accurate stocking of materials as defined. The position also includes emergency response duties as required, adhering to safety policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Warehouse and stock various materials while maintaining accurate material tracking through an inventory management system.
  • Preload and pack materials on trucks and unload items to be warehoused.
  • Coordinate accurate stocking of materials as defined and carry out order functions as requested.
  • Operate forklifts, hand trucks, carts, and other equipment for warehousing duties.
  • Pick orders using ladders and work at heights as necessary.
  • Verify ordered equipment for accuracy and report any concerns regarding damaged materials.
  • Lift and lower stock weighing up to 70 pounds at times and 50 pounds frequently.
  • Utilize handheld scanning technology and personal computers for processing stores transactions.
  • Complete the Eversource Time Merit Progression (TMP) program for stockhandlers.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience handling stock and materials, including fork truck experience.
  • Ability to use hand trucks, carts, and various material handling equipment.
  • Ability to lift and move materials up to 70 pounds at times and 50 pounds frequently.
  • Willingness to climb ladders and work at various heights.
  • Ability to stand or walk during the entire duration of the shift.
  • Computer literacy and proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to effectively utilize handheld scanning technology and knowledge of inventory management systems.
  • Good math skills and effective communication abilities.
  • Valid motor vehicle operator's license required; ability to obtain a CDL B within 6 months of start date.
