About the position

The Stockroom Associate with Mechanic Helper Duties position at Covington Aircraft Engines, Inc. involves supporting the logistical movements of aircraft engines, parts, and materials. This part-time role is crucial for maintaining accurate stock levels to ensure that materials are available for maintenance events, thereby preventing service disruptions. The associate will also provide assistance to mechanics as needed.

Responsibilities

• Processing material movement requests accurately and on time
• Performing shipping, receiving and stocking of aircraft engines, parts, components, and supplies
• Providing helper assistance to mechanics as needed
• Maintaining inventory within established specifications and in serviceable condition by following appropriate procedures
• Counting physical inventory; checking minimums/maximums
• Reviewing packing lists
• Sealing and labeling containers
• Moving crates/packages for loading
• Maintaining up to date shelf life on stockroom items
• Building kits for mechanics
• Completing forms and paperwork
• Some light manufacturing of parts
• Performing Mechanic Helper Duties as needed
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

• High School or GED certification
• Must have valid Drivers License
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to read and write English
• Proficient with computers with basic Microsoft word processing software and email management
• Warehouse Operations Knowledge, experienced with shipping, receiving and stocking practices
• Ability to carry several assignments at the same time and deliver positive results
• Ability to adjust to continuous change and shift focus to new tasks while maintaining productivity
• Detail oriented, able to produce accurate work to avoid unnecessary reproduction
• Self-initiated - able to complete needed work and/or identify areas that require work
• Dependable
• Good attendance
• Able to lift 50lbs and stand during extended periods of time
• Mechanically inclined
• Tolerance for repetition
• Stooping, bending, climbing ladders required
• Able to endure temperature changes and outside work.

Nice-to-haves

• 1+ years in a warehouse environment
• Inventory background experience
• Aviation Materials Knowledge, familiar with parts numbers, descriptions and handling
• Hazardous materials shipping and handling knowledge of HAZCOM and general shipping procedures
• Forklift driving experience
