About the position

The Stop Loss Actuarial Analyst III plays a crucial role within Elevance Health, focusing on the Employer Group Stop Loss segment, particularly the rapidly growing Wellpoint Stop Loss segment. This position is designed for individuals who are adept at handling complex actuarial studies and diverse projects that support Commercial Pricing functions. The analyst will be responsible for analyzing and implementing risk contracts, which includes conducting experience analyses, pricing, filing, and settlement work. Additionally, the role involves preparing management reports that provide insights into the performance and risks associated with these contracts. In this position, the analyst will also assist in the training of actuarial trainees, analysts, and specialists, ensuring that knowledge and skills are effectively passed on to the next generation of actuaries. The role requires coordination and direction of special actuarial projects, which may involve collaboration with a diverse group of stakeholders to provide pricing support and risk analysis. This collaborative approach is essential for ensuring that the actuarial team meets the needs of the business and delivers high-quality results. Elevance Health operates under a Hybrid Workforce Strategy, which allows for flexibility in work arrangements while also emphasizing the importance of in-person connections. Associates are expected to work at an Elevance Health location at least once a week, with specific requirements discussed during the hiring process. Responsibilities

  • Analyzes and implements risk contracts including conducting experience analyses, pricing, filing and settlement work; and prepares management reports.
  • Assists in training of actuarial trainees, analysts and specialists.
  • Coordinates/directs special actuarial projects.
  • Collaborates with a diverse group of stakeholders to provide Pricing support and Risk Analysis.

Requirements

  • Requires a BA/BS and to have passed a minimum of four Society of Actuaries (SOA) actuarial exams and a minimum of 3 years related experience; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.
