About the position
Join our Fiesta Mart Store Operations Team as a Store 004- Fiesta -Spencer Hwy - Houston-Restaurant Checker! Proudly celebrating the spirit of Texas, Fiesta Mart combines flavors from around the world with fresh, quality products aimed at diverse communities in Houston, Dallas-Fort Worth and Austin. For over 50 years, our stores have provided customers with an eclectic assortment of international products, authentic in-house service departments and quality perishable items. The Restaurant Checker is one of the key contact points for our guest's experience. A cashier is responsible for always providing enthusiastic and friendly Customer Service to each guest, generating sales, housekeeping, cash register operations (POS) and accurate cash handling.
Responsibilities
- Provide excellent customer service to guests.
- Operate cash register and handle cash accurately.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the checkout area.
- Assist customers with inquiries and provide information about products.
- Lift and move products as required, up to 60 pounds.
Requirements
- Ability to read and write in Spanish and English.
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and product labels.
- Ability to write simple correspondence.
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed instructions.
- Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 45 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 60 pounds.
