About the position

Responsibilities

• Provide positive representation of Westlake Ace Hardware and assist customers in solving problems.
• Greet customers and thank them upon entering and leaving the store.
• Handle customer complaints and resolve issues with the customer's best interest in mind.
• Supervise the general operations of the entire store and ensure a safe work environment for all associates.
• Order and maintain desirable product inventory levels to ensure store profitability.
• Monitor inventory shrink and take corrective actions as necessary.
• Manage preventative maintenance and repairs to protect physical assets.
• Ensure cleanliness and orderliness of the sales floor and stock room.
• Oversee daily maintenance and assist with overall store upkeep.
• Manage payroll and controllable expenses, and assist with budget processes.
• Conduct weekly management staff meetings and ensure effective training of associates.
• Recruit and promote associates for management positions.
• Lead by example and challenge associates to improve merchandising and sales.

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED equivalent.
• Previous retail management experience is required.
• Hardware experience is preferred.
• Ability to stand, walk, lift (up to 25 lbs), and climb.
