As an AP Executive Intern at Target, you will gain a valuable and realistic preview of the Executive Team Leader - Assets Protection role, which is akin to an Assistant Store Manager - Assets Protection. This internship is designed to provide you with hands-on experience in the Assets Protection (AP) business area, allowing you to work closely with a mentor and learn about various team functions within our stores. Throughout the summer program, you will be immersed in the AP team's mission to create a safe and secure environment for both team members and guests while meeting financial goals related to shortage and profitability. Your role will involve managing a culture of safety and security, responding to crisis situations, and developing strategic goals to mitigate theft and fraud. You will be responsible for identifying and resolving internal investigations, as well as recruiting and managing talent within the team. The internship will challenge you to take initiative, seek growth opportunities, and continuously learn about Target's expectations for leaders. You will also be expected to provide innovative ideas and solutions to enhance business operations and team performance. A typical day as an AP Executive Intern will include engaging in training activities, participating in developmental opportunities, and collaborating with store leaders to improve team performance. You will influence a culture of ethical conduct and safety, educate teams on emergency preparedness, and develop strategies to reduce shortage risks. Your responsibilities will also encompass supporting the identification and resolution of theft incidents, modeling safety behaviors, and ensuring compliance with safety policies. This internship is not just about learning; it’s about actively contributing to the success of the team and the overall Target experience for our guests.
