As an AP Executive Intern at Target, you will gain a valuable and realistic preview of the Executive Team Leader - Assets Protection role, which is akin to an Assistant Store Manager focused on Assets Protection. This internship is designed to provide you with hands-on experience in managing a safe and secure environment for both team members and guests while meeting financial goals related to shortage and profitability. Throughout the summer program, you will work closely with a mentor, immersing yourself in the AP business area and other team functions within our stores. Your role will involve leading a culture of physical security and safety, responding to crisis events, investigating theft, and educating team members on operational shortage priorities. You will be expected to take initiative in learning how to be an AP leader, actively participating in training activities, and demonstrating a commitment to Target's expectations of leaders. This includes providing support to guests and team members, creating strategic AP strategies, and managing the identification and resolution of internal investigations. A typical day will include a variety of responsibilities such as partnering with store leaders to enhance team performance, influencing a culture of ethical conduct and safety, and identifying shortage risks to develop proactive strategies. You will also be involved in educating store teams on emergency preparedness and physical security procedures, as well as supporting the prevention and resolution of theft incidents. The internship will require flexibility in your schedule, including early morning, overnight shifts, evenings, and weekends, to align with guest and business needs.
