As an AP Executive Intern at Target, you will gain a valuable and realistic preview of the Executive Team Leader - Assets Protection role, which is akin to an Assistant Store Manager - Assets Protection. This internship is designed to provide you with hands-on experience in the Assets Protection (AP) business area, allowing you to work closely with a mentor and learn about various team functions within our stores. Throughout the summer program, you will be immersed in the AP culture, which emphasizes creating a safe and secure environment for both team members and guests while meeting financial goals related to shortage and profitability. Your role will involve managing a culture of safety and security, responding to crisis situations, and developing strategic goals to mitigate theft and fraud. You will be responsible for identifying and resolving internal investigations, as well as recruiting and managing hourly team members. The internship will challenge you to take initiative, seek growth opportunities, and continuously learn about Target's expectations for leaders. You will also be expected to provide new ideas and solutions to enhance team performance and operational efficiency. A typical day as an AP Executive Intern will include a variety of responsibilities, such as participating in training activities, partnering with store leaders to improve team performance, and educating team members on emergency preparedness and physical security procedures. You will also work to identify shortage risks and develop proactive strategies to prevent theft, all while modeling a culture of ethical conduct and safety. This role requires flexibility in scheduling, as you may need to work early morning, overnight, evening, or weekend shifts to align with guest and business needs.
