As an AP Executive Intern at Target, you will gain a valuable and realistic preview of the Executive Team Leader - Assets Protection role, which is akin to an Assistant Store Manager - Assets Protection. This internship is designed to provide you with hands-on experience in managing a safe and secure environment for both team members and guests while meeting the financial goals of shortage and profitability within a Target store. Throughout the summer program, you will work closely with a mentor, learning about the Assets Protection (AP) business area and other team functions within our stores. Your role will involve leading a culture of physical security and safety, responding to crisis events, investigating and resolving theft, and educating team members on operational shortage priorities. You will be expected to take initiative in learning how to be an AP leader, actively participating in training activities, and demonstrating a commitment to Target's expectations of leaders. This includes providing new ideas and solutions to business opportunities, managing the identification and resolution of internal investigations, and supporting the recruitment and talent management of hourly team members and leaders. A typical day as an AP Executive Intern will include a variety of responsibilities, such as influencing a safe and secure culture, driving physical security processes, educating store teams on emergency preparedness, and identifying shortage risks. You will also be responsible for supporting the prevention and resolution of external theft incidents and investigations, all while working a flexible schedule that aligns with guest and business needs. This internship is not just about learning; it’s about actively contributing to a team that prioritizes safety, ethical conduct, and compliance in all operations.
