As an AP Executive Intern at Target, you will gain a valuable and realistic preview of the Executive Team Leader - Assets Protection role, which is akin to an Assistant Store Manager - Assets Protection. This internship is designed to provide you with hands-on experience in managing a safe and secure environment for both team members and guests while meeting financial goals related to shortage and profitability. Throughout the summer program, you will work closely with a mentor, allowing you to learn about the Assets Protection (AP) business area and other team functions within our stores. Your role will involve leading a culture of physical security and safety, responding to crisis events, investigating theft, and educating team members on operational shortage priorities. You will be expected to take initiative in learning how to be an AP leader, actively participate in training activities, and demonstrate a commitment to ethical conduct and safety. The internship will also provide opportunities to develop strategic AP strategies and goals, manage internal investigations, and support the recruitment and talent management of hourly team members and leaders. No two days will be the same, but you can expect to engage in various responsibilities, including providing new ideas and solutions to business opportunities, partnering with store leaders to enhance team performance, and influencing a culture of safety and compliance. You will also be tasked with identifying shortage risks and developing tactics to mitigate them, as well as supporting the prevention and resolution of theft incidents. This internship is not just about learning; it’s about actively contributing to the success of the team and the overall guest experience at Target.
