As an AP Executive Intern at Target, you will gain a valuable and realistic preview of the Executive Team Leader - Assets Protection role, which is akin to an Assistant Store Manager - Assets Protection. This internship is designed to provide you with hands-on experience in managing a safe and secure environment for both team members and guests while meeting financial goals related to shortage and profitability. Throughout the summer program, you will work closely with a mentor, allowing you to learn about the Assets Protection (AP) business area and other team functions within our stores. Your role will involve leading a culture of physical security and safety, responding to crisis events, investigating theft, and educating team members on operational shortage priorities. You will be expected to take initiative in your learning, actively participate in training activities, and demonstrate a commitment to Target's expectations of leadership. This includes providing support to guests and team members, creating strategic AP strategies, and managing the identification and resolution of internal investigations. The internship will also require you to work a flexible schedule that aligns with guest and business needs, which may include early morning, overnight shifts, evenings, and weekends. You will be responsible for modeling a culture of ethical conduct, safety, and compliance, while also influencing and validating a safe and secure culture within the store. Your contributions will help drive sales and reduce shortage risks, ultimately enhancing the shopping experience for our guests.
