As an AP Executive Intern at Target, you will gain a valuable and realistic preview of the Executive Team Leader - Assets Protection role, which is akin to an Assistant Store Manager - Assets Protection. This internship is designed to provide you with hands-on experience in managing a safe and secure environment for both team members and guests while meeting financial goals related to shortage and profitability. Throughout the summer program, you will work closely with a mentor, allowing you to learn about the Assets Protection (AP) business area and other team functions within our stores. Your role will involve leading a culture of physical security and safety, responding to crisis events, investigating theft, and educating team members on operational shortage priorities. You will be expected to take initiative in your learning, actively participate in training activities, and demonstrate a commitment to Target's expectations of leadership. The internship will also provide opportunities to develop skills in managing a safe culture, creating strategic AP strategies, and identifying resolutions for theft and fraud. A typical day as an AP Executive Intern will include a variety of responsibilities, such as partnering with store leaders to enhance team performance, influencing a culture of safety, and supporting the identification and resolution of internal investigations. You will also be tasked with educating store teams on emergency preparedness and physical security procedures, as well as developing proactive strategies to prevent theft and shortage. This role requires flexibility in scheduling, as you may need to work early morning, overnight, evening, and weekend shifts to align with guest and business needs. Overall, this internship is an excellent opportunity to immerse yourself in the retail environment at Target, where you will help create a shopping experience that delights guests and fosters a safe and secure atmosphere.
