About the position

The Store Associate plays a crucial role in the retail operations of Goodwill Industries, responsible for the efficient flow of merchandise from the stockroom to the sales floor. This position emphasizes customer service, adherence to operational standards, and the promotion of Goodwill's mission. The Store Associate is expected to engage with customers and donors, ensuring a positive experience while maintaining the store's productivity and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Provide friendly customer service and engage with customers and donors.
• Achieve brand productivity standards for donation processing, replenishment, and clearance pulls.
• Maintain stockroom standard operating procedures for efficient handling of merchandise.
• Execute donation processing by sorting, tagging, and pricing items according to standards.
• Support visual and operational standards to maximize merchandise presentation.
• Partner with store leadership for effective replenishment and merchandise rotation.
• Adhere to safety standards on the sales floor and in the stockroom.
• Greet customers and donors promptly and assist with donations as needed.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization in the donation area.
• Sort and grade donations, ensuring quality checks and organization of items.

Requirements

• 1 year of retail or customer service experience preferred.
• Previous stock experience required.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Proven ability to drive and exceed individual and store results.
• Strong communication skills with customers and colleagues.
• Ability to adapt to and engage with different customers.
• Demonstrated collaborative skills and ability to work well within a team.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
