As a Retail Store Associate, you will be responsible for providing differentiated customer service by anticipating customer needs and demonstrating compassion in all interactions. You will focus on creating a welcoming environment by greeting customers warmly, maintaining eye contact, and assisting them in locating items. Your role will also involve accurately performing cashier duties, handling cash, checks, and credit card transactions while adhering to company policies and procedures. In addition to customer service, you will maintain the sales floor by restocking shelves, checking in vendors, updating pricing information, and completing inventory management tasks as directed by the store manager. You will support opening and closing store activities as needed and provide customer support across all departments, ensuring they are fully stocked and operational. You may also assist pharmacy personnel and embrace new CVS services and loyalty programs that align with our mission of helping people on their path to better health.

Responsibilities

• Providing differentiated customer service by anticipating customer needs and resolving potential service issues.
• Greeting customers warmly and assisting them in locating additional items as needed.
• Accurately performing cashier duties, handling cash, checks, and credit card transactions.
• Maintaining the sales floor by restocking shelves and completing inventory management tasks.
• Supporting opening and closing store activities as needed.
• Providing customer support to all departments, ensuring they are fully stocked and operational.
• Assisting pharmacy personnel when needed and working regular shifts in the pharmacy for career development.
• Advocating for new CVS services and loyalty programs.

Requirements

• At least 16 years of age.
• Ability to remain upright on feet for sustained periods of time.
• Ability to lift and exert up to 35 lbs of force occasionally and up to 10 lbs frequently.
• Close visual acuity for tasks such as viewing a computer terminal and reading.

Nice-to-haves

• Previous experience in a retail or customer service setting.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred but not required.
