About the position

The Store Associate position at the Department of Defense involves performing various duties related to grocery and produce items, including handling, preparing, stocking, and checking out customer purchases. Associates will assist customers with inquiries, operate electronic checkout systems, maintain stock levels, and ensure safety and sanitation practices are followed. This role is part-time with a flexible schedule that includes days, nights, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Assisting customers by answering questions regarding item prices and locations.
• Operating an electronic checkout system to record purchases and make change.
• Handling, preparing, and maintaining stock levels of grocery and produce items.
• Reviewing stock levels and gathering inventory data for the Computer Assisted Ordering (CAO) system.
• Preparing and maintaining documents to order commissary items and reconcile invoices.
• Maintaining security, safety, and sanitation practices.

Requirements

• U.S. citizenship or national status required.
• Minimum age requirement must be met.
• One year of progressively responsible clerical or office work experience, or two years of education above high school, or a combination of both.
• Ability to meet physical requirements, including standing, bending, and lifting up to 40 pounds.
