About the position

The Store Cleaning Associate at Marshalls is responsible for maintaining a clean and organized store environment, focusing primarily on floor care. This role involves operating cleaning equipment, adhering to health and safety standards, and supporting various store functions to enhance the overall customer experience.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean and organized store environment with a focus on floor care.
• Operate the scrubber and buffer for floor maintenance.
• Dust mop, damp mop, sweep, vacuum, dust, and spot clean glass and windows.
• Adhere to operational, merchandise, and loss prevention standards.
• Cross-train to work in multiple areas of the store to support business needs.
• Model established customer experience practices with internal and external customers.
• Support and embody a positive store culture through honesty, integrity, and respect.
• Maintain cleanliness standards for all areas of the store, including the sales floor, associate lounge, backroom, and restrooms.
• Refill essential items in the lounge, restrooms, and front end as per health and safety policies.
• Participate in store recovery as needed throughout the day.
• Communicate accurately and effectively with management and associates.
• Participate in safety awareness to maintain a safe environment.

Requirements

• Excellent customer service skills.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule to support business needs.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Physical stamina to perform cleaning tasks and operate floor buffer and scrubber.
• Capable of multi-tasking and responding to changes in direction or unexpected situations.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to lift heavy objects with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Ability to work effectively with peers and supervisors.
• Retail customer experience preferred.
