About the position

The Store Clerk - Seasonal position is a part-time role focused on assisting customers during the holiday season. The clerk will be responsible for providing excellent customer service, managing cash register operations, and maintaining store organization and cleanliness. This limited-term position requires availability for 20-24 hours per week, with potential for more hours during peak times.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers by answering questions and taking product orders.
• Check out customers at the cash register with prompt and courteous service.
• Keep store shelves fully stocked, labeled, and rotated.
• Take special orders and ensure completion with the customer.
• Maintain a clean, dusted, and well-organized store.
• Organize and supply the register area with necessary items.
• Communicate any problems or concerns to the store manager.
• Efficiently use the computer and inventory books for resources.
• Assist in the overall operation of the store to ensure a comfortable atmosphere for customers.
• Help customers carry purchases to their vehicles.
• Perform miscellaneous duties as directed.
• Conduct yourself in a professional, courteous manner at all times.
• Take direction from supervisor and complete tasks on time.

Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and transfer products.
• Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
• Math skills to accurately make change for cash transactions.
• Good verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Experience working on computers and willingness to learn new programs.
• Experience with a cash register is a plus.
• Ability to interact professionally with a variety of customers.
