About the position

The Store Coordinator for Food Service at Fresh Thyme Market is responsible for planning, directing, and supervising team members in the daily operations of the department. This role focuses on delivering exceptional customer service, managing product ordering and display, ensuring food safety compliance, and maintaining cleanliness in the department. The Coordinator also plays a key role in staffing, training, and promoting a safe work environment while achieving sales and budget goals.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in scheduling, staffing selection, and hiring to meet staffing needs.
  • Promote succession planning by providing career paths and identifying development needs for team members.
  • Support disciplinary actions and make recommendations concerning discharge.
  • Achieve P&L budgeted goals, including sales, labor, and margin plans for the department.
  • Review sales goals, supply costs, and stock loss/shrink results.
  • Model exceptional customer service and review customer feedback.
  • Prepare, package, stock, and display merchandise appropriately.
  • Ensure price change compliance and food safety compliance.
  • Supervise, train, and manage the Department Team in the absence of the Department Manager.
  • Ensure all inferior out-of-code products are removed from display.
  • Provide consultation to customers regarding consumer products.
  • Execute ad set compliance including signage and maintain a neat backroom.
  • Ensure department team members are thoroughly trained and have completed all required training.
  • Promote a safe work environment and maintain reliable attendance.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 2-3 years of related retail experience.
  • One year of management experience.
  • Previous experience in the natural foods industry is a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and provide direction to team members.
  • Ability to resolve conflict and manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Ability to analyze financial and statistical information for informed decision-making.
  • Ability to consult with customers on department-related inquiries.
  • Ability to lead a safe working environment and mentor team members.
