About the position

As a NAPA Automotive Parts Specialist, you will serve as the primary point of contact for customers in the retail store, providing expert advice and solutions for their automotive needs. This role emphasizes customer service and requires a solid understanding of automotive parts, whether gained through professional experience or personal interest. Responsibilities

  • Provide auto parts answers and solutions for retail and wholesale customers in person and over the phone.
  • Assist other NAPA team members with customer inquiries using your parts knowledge.
  • Deliver outstanding customer care and interactions in the store.
  • Engage retail customers to ensure a positive consumer experience.
  • Utilize technology, including computers, cash registers, telephones, and paper catalog systems.

Requirements

  • Valid Driver's License
  • Previous experience in a parts store or automotive industry, or a willingness to learn about auto parts.
  • High School Diploma or GED; Technical or Trade school courses or degree preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced retail environment.
  • Strong listening skills and empathy for customers.

Nice-to-haves

  • Background and/or passion for the automotive industry, heavy equipment, farm industry, diesel, marine, or dealership.
  • Experience in a parts store, auction, retail store, or auto body/collision.
  • Knowledge of cataloging and/or inventory management systems.
  • ASE Certifications.
