About the position

The Store Director at Meijer is a visionary leader responsible for driving success and inspiring teams within the East Detroit Market. This role involves overseeing the total operation of the store, ensuring exceptional customer service, operational excellence, and financial stability while fostering a vibrant team culture. The Store Director will lead retail team members at all levels to deliver the best shopping experience and develop a team that consistently meets productivity and customer service goals.

Responsibilities

• Maximize sales and maintain fiscal responsibility.
• Provide excellent customer service throughout store operations.
• Mentor and coach all team members and leaders to ensure goals are met and exceeded.
• Ensure the store is properly staffed with well-trained team members and work to develop existing team members professionally.
• Maintain all corporate, safety, and regulatory procedures to provide a safe and stable work environment.
• Cultivate relationships in the local community to support the Meijer brand.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent retail experience.
• 5 years of retail/service industry experience.
• 3 years of leadership experience managing leaders with direct reports.
• Minimum 3 years of retail leadership experience with General Merchandise and Grocery/Fresh experience preferred.
• Experience in leading retail or service operations with a minimum of $40 million in annual sales revenue.
