About the position

As a Store Director at Meijer, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring that our retail team members deliver the best possible shopping experience for our customers. This position is accountable for the total operation of the store, leading the unit in alignment with our leadership expectations and core values to maximize the company's financial success. You will be responsible for providing remarkable customer service and maintaining financial stability through the core functions of Retail Operations, while also ensuring that all operational and merchandising standards are upheld. The Store Director will focus on developing a team that consistently meets productivity and customer service goals. In this role, you will leverage your retail leadership and service expertise to positively influence both your store and your team's success. By bringing your 'A-Game'—Acknowledging, Assisting, and Appreciating your customers—you will create 'WOW' moments that foster meaningful experiences for both customers and team members. Your proven abilities to analyze financial data, deliver excellent customer service, and cultivate future leaders will be essential to your success. Your responsibilities will include maximizing sales while maintaining fiscal responsibility, providing excellent customer service throughout store operations, mentoring and coaching team members to ensure that goals are met and exceeded, and ensuring that the store is adequately staffed with well-trained team members. You will also work to maintain all corporate, safety, and regulatory procedures to provide a safe and stable work environment. Additionally, being a strong community partner by cultivating relationships in the local community will be crucial to supporting the Meijer brand.

Responsibilities

  • Maximize sales and maintain fiscal responsibility.
  • Provide excellent customer service throughout store operations.
  • Mentor and coach all team members and leaders to ensure goals are met and exceeded.
  • Ensure the store is properly staffed with well-trained team members.
  • Work to professionally develop existing team members.
  • Maintain all corporate, safety, and regulatory procedures to provide a safe and stable work environment.
  • Cultivate relationships in the local community to support the Meijer brand.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent retail experience.
  • 5 years of retail/service industry experience.
  • 3 years of leadership experience including management of leaders with direct reports.
  • Minimum 3 years of retail leadership experience with General Merchandise and Grocery/Fresh experience preferred.
  • Experience in leading retail or service operation with $40 million minimum in annual sales revenue.
