About the position

The Store General Manager at Petco is responsible for leading the store team to achieve top-line sales growth while ensuring the welfare and proper care of all animals. This role involves managing all aspects of the retail store, including talent acquisition, training, performance management, and operational excellence, all while fostering a positive work environment and delivering exceptional customer service.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop a high-performing team to deliver top-line sales growth.
  • Attract, hire, and retain a diverse team of top talent.
  • Train, coach, and develop department leaders and store partners.
  • Ensure exceptional customer service and guest loyalty.
  • Manage store performance metrics and develop strategies for improvement.
  • Oversee inventory management and ensure proper pricing and display of merchandise.
  • Maintain store appearance and adhere to operational standards and safety procedures.
  • Conduct performance management for all store partners.
  • Plan and execute in-store and community events.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in retail management or a similar role.
  • Strong leadership and team-building skills.
  • Ability to analyze financial and operational reports.
  • Excellent customer service skills and a passion for pets.
  • Experience in inventory management and merchandising.

  • Bilingual in Spanish and English.
