About the position

The Store General Manager is responsible for driving profitable sales through exam growth and enhancing the patient experience. This role focuses on revenue generation, operational efficiency, and maintaining high levels of satisfaction among patients, associates, and doctors. The manager will foster a patient-centered retail culture and ensure the store meets company standards in merchandising and operational processes.

Responsibilities

  • Drive profitable store sales by fostering a patient-focused retail culture.
  • Prioritize exam growth on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
  • Engage in community outreach, including cornea events and blitzing.
  • Maintain consistent communication with existing patients.
  • Implement creative social media marketing strategies.
  • Achieve planned sales goals and comp store sales growth.
  • Demonstrate a proven track record of increased KPI results.
  • Analyze business performance through strong business acumen.
  • Ensure positive year-on-year improvement in comp store contribution.
  • Manage gross margin in accordance with company standards.
  • Train and develop associates to provide a patient care-focused experience.
  • Build a team of administratively skilled associates for daily operational support.
  • Develop strong professional relationships with doctors.
  • Ensure appropriate coverage and quality of doctor hours.
  • Implement initiatives to increase the number of exams and conversion of exams to sales.
  • Participate in business planning and updates.
  • Recruit, train, develop, and retain high-performing associates.
  • Utilize effective daily practice and role-playing for employee coaching.
  • Plan proactively for adequate manpower and bench strength.
  • Ensure positive patient satisfaction through retention and survey responses.
  • Oversee effective merchandising and presentation of the store according to standards.
  • Execute planograms and maintain visual appearance inside and outside the store.
  • Ensure cleanliness and professional presentation of associates according to company standards.
  • Follow up with customers to ensure high quality through accurate measurements and service delivery.
  • Maximize Managed Vision Care relationships and sales opportunities.
  • Implement approved marketing programs in a timely manner.
  • Execute signage and promotions according to company standards.
  • Ensure operational procedures are followed, including safety and maintenance protocols.
  • Maintain excellent reliability regarding attendance and punctuality.
  • Possess reliable transportation and a valid driver's license.
  • Be available to travel up to 30 miles from the primary store and work on Saturdays during peak season.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of optical experience or licensed optical knowledge.
  • Minimum 3 years of sales experience with a proven track record of sales growth.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver outstanding patient experiences with a conversion rate of at least 80%.
  • Proven experience in retail or customer service establishments.
  • Ability to present and implement creative solutions for business growth.
  • Strong communication skills to meet and exceed patient expectations.
  • Ability to foster positive relationships with associates and doctors.
  • Experience in store merchandising and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage priorities with adaptability and flexibility.
  • Willingness to take calculated risks and attention to detail.
  • Ability to multi-task and delegate effectively to maximize patient interaction.
  • Computer experience is required.
