About the position

The Store General Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the store's operations, ensuring excellence in service and management. Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the store.
  • Supervises four to five non-supervisory employees and one assistant store manager/sales manager.
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the company's policies and applicable laws.
  • Interviews, hires, and trains employees; plans, assigns, and directs work; appraises performance; rewards and disciplines employees.
  • Completes store operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees; follows up on work results.
  • Maintains store staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees.
  • Ensures availability of merchandise and services by maintaining inventories.
  • Secures merchandise by implementing security systems and measures.
  • Identifies current and future customer requirements by establishing rapport with potential and actual customers.
  • Maintains the stability and reputation of the store by complying with legal requirements.
  • Protects employees and customers by providing a safe and clean store environment.
  • Determines marketing strategy changes by reviewing operating and financial statements and departmental sales records.
  • Maintains operations by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing program, operational, and personnel policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Two to four years supervisory/management experience.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from upper management, employees, vendors, customers, and the general public.
  • Fluency in English is a must; fluency in Spanish is highly desirable.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Knowledge of Word Processing software, Spreadsheet software, Inventory software, Payroll systems, Internet software, and Database software.

Nice-to-haves

  • Previous Rent to Own and/or wheel and tire experience is desirable but not necessary.
