About the position

The Store General Manager at West Point Optical LLC is responsible for driving profitable sales growth while ensuring an outstanding patient experience. This role requires leading a team in a positive and productive environment, modeling exemplary patient care, and developing strong relationships with both associates and doctors. The Store Manager will be accountable for achieving sales goals, managing payroll costs, and maintaining gross margins in accordance with company standards. The position also involves training and developing associates to provide a patient-focused experience, ensuring that the store is effectively merchandised, and executing operational procedures to maintain safety and cleanliness standards. In addition to sales responsibilities, the Store General Manager will participate in business planning and updates, focusing on recruitment, training, and retention of high-performing associates. This includes selecting associates who demonstrate desired patient care behaviors, ensuring effective onboarding, and fostering employee satisfaction through two-way communication. The manager will also be responsible for maximizing Managed Vision Care relationships and sales opportunities, implementing marketing programs, and ensuring compliance with operational procedures. The ideal candidate will possess optical knowledge or be licensed, have a proven track record of sales growth, and demonstrate the ability to train and develop associates. Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage priorities are essential for success in this role. The Store General Manager will also need to be adaptable and willing to take calculated risks to enhance the business and patient experience.

Responsibilities

  • Drive profitable store sales by fostering a patient-focused retail culture.
  • Achieve planned sales goals and comp store sales growth.
  • Manage payroll costs effectively in accordance with company standards.

  • Develop a team of administratively skilled associates for daily operational tasks.
  • Build strong professional relationships with doctors and ensure quality of doctor hours.

  • Ensure effective merchandising and presentation of the store according to standards.
  • Follow up with customers to ensure high quality and satisfaction.
  • Maximize Managed Vision Care relationships and sales opportunities.
  • Implement approved marketing programs and execute signage and promotions according to company standards.
  • Ensure compliance with operational procedures regarding safety and maintenance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or comparable experience in retail operations.
  • Proven track record of sales growth through sales skills and accountability for sales results.
  • Ability to train, coach, and develop associates in patient-focused and sales-oriented practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver outstanding patient experiences during direct interactions.
  • Experience in recruiting and selecting associates and doctors.
  • Proven experience in a retail or customer service establishment.
  • Ability to present and implement creative solutions to grow the business.
