As a key member of the Food 4 Less team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service in a safe and clean environment, ensuring that customers feel valued and appreciated during their visits. In this position, you will be expected to manage your department efficiently, achieving weekly, period, and annual sales and profit budgets. You will also be responsible for training and coaching associates to perform their job duties effectively, ensuring a high level of service and satisfaction. Your role will involve creating a welcoming environment for customers, addressing their questions and concerns, and resolving any issues that may arise. You will manage cash drawers, perform accounting procedures, and ensure that all financial transactions are handled accurately. Additionally, you will be responsible for reinforcing safety programs, identifying unsafe conditions, and notifying management of any safety risks or incidents. This position requires a proactive approach to customer service and a commitment to maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide exceptional customer service to ensure customer satisfaction and return visits.
  • Manage the department efficiently to achieve sales and profit budgets.
  • Train and coach associates to perform their job duties effectively.
  • Create a welcoming environment for customers by addressing their questions and resolving concerns.
  • Set up cash drawers for front end personnel and reconcile individual cash drawers.
  • Perform booth accounting procedures for balancing the store.
  • Receive, count, and verify cash boxes of coin and media from the bank.
  • Count and prepare cash and media deposits for the bank.
  • Operate various machines, computers, and terminals at the Service Desk.
  • Complete various accounting reports and forms accurately.
  • Coordinate breaks/lunches and delegate job assignments to front end personnel.
  • Handle Western Union transactions and communicate effectively with customers and staff.
  • Reinforce safety programs and comply with safety procedures, reporting any unsafe conditions.
  • Practice preventive maintenance by inspecting equipment and notifying management of repairs needed.

Requirements

  • Previous comparable experience in a retail or customer service environment.
  • Ability to manage a department and achieve sales and profit goals.
  • Strong training and coaching skills to develop associates.
  • Excellent communication skills to interact with customers and staff.
  • Proficiency in cash handling and accounting procedures.
