About the position

The Store Loss Prevention Investigator at Sephora is responsible for protecting the store's assets against theft while ensuring a positive client experience. This role involves conducting surveillance, preparing reports on theft incidents, and collaborating with store leadership to develop and execute Store Shrink Plans. The investigator will also participate in training and maintain awareness of loss prevention practices within the store.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct surveillance on the sales floor and utilize CCTV systems to identify, observe, and apprehend or deter individuals from committing theft.
  • Adhere to all laws and Sephora policies regarding apprehensions, search and seizure, and preservation of evidence.
  • Prepare prompt and complete reports on theft incidents, merchandise recoveries, accident investigations, and audits.
  • Testify in court on behalf of the company in criminal or civil cases as summoned.
  • Heighten and maintain store loss prevention awareness by participating in store meetings and training sessions.
  • Provide support and work in multiple store locations if hired in a multi-store area.
  • Investigate internal theft using various resources, including exception-based reporting, in partnership with District Loss Prevention Managers.

Requirements

  • Minimum 1-year asset protection or loss prevention experience in a retail environment.
  • Flexible availability to work during peak retail hours such as nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to stand/walk the sales floor for the entire shift, with or without accommodation.
  • Satisfy and maintain all licensing requirements as required by state or local jurisdiction.
  • Adherence to Sephora's dress code and other policies in the Sephora Employee Handbook.
