About the position

The Store Manager at Tandy Leather Factory is a dynamic leader responsible for overseeing all store functions, driving retail sales, and ensuring exceptional customer service. This role emphasizes the importance of leathercrafting knowledge and customer engagement, fostering a positive retail environment while managing store operations and developing team members. The Store Manager will spend the majority of their time on the sales floor, actively engaging with customers and leading the team to achieve sales goals and uphold the Tandy Leather brand's reputation.

Responsibilities

• Drive sales and grow the business through innovative initiatives.
• Develop and execute a comprehensive quarterly sales plan.
• Spend 90% of time in-store to ensure a strong retail presence.
• Dedicate 10% of time to building community connections for business development.
• Ensure adherence to operational policies and procedures.
• Maintain brand and visual merchandising standards.
• Create emotional connections with customers to drive engagement and sales.
• Develop customer relationships through active listening and problem-solving.
• Exhibit leadership by setting clear expectations and coaching the team.
• Foster a supportive environment focused on development and teamwork.
• Network, recruit, and hire staff to meet staffing needs.
• Schedule classes promoting leathercrafting and Tandy products.
• Teach leathercrafting techniques to employees and customers.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent work experience; bachelor's degree is a plus.
• Minimum of 2 years of retail leadership experience.
• Demonstrated expertise in all aspects of store operations.
• Strong critical thinking skills for flawless execution of store operations.
• Highly motivated to provide exceptional customer service and achieve retail sales.
• Personable and capable of engaging with diverse customers.
• Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment and multitask effectively.
• Willingness to work varied schedules, including weekends and holidays.
• Basic computer skills and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
