  • Manage all employees and processes in a high sales volume retail store.
  • Ensure timely and efficient completion of store functions including ordering, receiving, stocking, merchandise presentation, staffing, cash handling, shrink control and customer service.
  • Review operating statements to identify business trends including sales, profitability, expense control opportunities, and potential shrink improvement.
  • Maintain compliance with company Standard Operating Procedures manual, policies and work processes.
  • Review Ad/Planner ordering plans and Perishable and Food ordering processes.
  • Ensure store meets or exceeds in-stock targets.
  • Facilitate efficient staging, stocking and storage of merchandise.
  • Ensure merchandise is presented according to established practices and plans.
  • Control damages and markdowns.
  • Manage store budget and maintain strict cashier accountability.
  • Recruit, interview, select, hire, train, and retain qualified store employees.
  • Develop and maintain employee work schedules.
  • Evaluate employee performance and address performance issues through coaching and counseling.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal and state labor laws and company policies.
  • Plan and lead staff meetings and events to encourage safety and security.
  • Provide superior customer service leadership and maintain daily contact with customers.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; post-secondary business school training preferred.
  • Five or more years of retail store experience preferred, including at least one to two years as a store manager or similar position.
  • Ability to read and interpret operating statements and identify corrective actions.
  • Knowledge of cash, facility and safety control policies and practices.
  • Ability to perform cash register functions and generate reports.
  • Knowledge of recruiting, interviewing, hiring, counseling and termination practices.
  • Knowledge of local and state food handling certifications and requirements.
  • Basic knowledge of personal and network computer systems.
  • Ability to perform mathematical calculations.
  • Knowledge of inventory management and merchandising practices.
  • Ability to effectively communicate information and standards verbally and in writing.
  • Bilingual Spanish speakers preferred.
