About the position

The Store Manager I at Palmetto Goodwill is responsible for managing and operating a retail store and donation processing center. The role focuses on delivering exceptional customer service, efficiently managing store associates, overseeing donations, processing, stock rotation, and sales, while maintaining the facility's appearance to encourage shopper engagement. The manager acts as an ambassador for the organization, promoting its mission and values, and ensuring a positive and inclusive environment for both customers and team members.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates Palmetto Goodwill's Amazing Customer Experience (ACE) Culture, I-CARE Values, Mission, and Vision in all actions.
  • Delivers ACE (Amazing Customer Experience) to all internal and external customers.
  • Acts as an ambassador of Palmetto Goodwill and our I-CARE values.
  • Embraces an expectation of learning and growth, participating in training and development.
  • Celebrates and supports a culture of diversity, inclusivity, and belonging.
  • Ensures team members feel respected, accepted, and included.
  • Enthusiastically receives donations from donors utilizing the GRATIS method.
  • Maintains responsibility for a level 1 classified retail location or a boutique store location.
  • Maintains the store budget including sales, payroll, and expenses.
  • Leads the retail store team and trains new team members.
  • Sets a positive example for all team members and provides coaching when necessary.
  • Issues refunds and resolves customer concerns.
  • Leverages actionable data to make decisions and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Obtains and maintains forklift and walk-behind stacker certification.
  • Performs administrative duties including opening/closing duties and making bank deposits.
  • Ensures compliance with safety, security, sales, and record-keeping procedures.
  • Coordinates shipments and adjusts merchandise categories as needed.
  • Ensures merchandise is priced according to established standards.
  • Optimizes floor space based on product flow for efficient production.
  • Assists Truck Drivers and other agency personnel as needed.

Requirements

  • CPR Certification
  • Microsoft Excel proficiency
  • Experience with iOS and Windows
  • Driver's License
  • First Aid Certification
  • Trade school education
  • Materials handling experience
  • 4 years of retail experience
  • Associate's degree in Business or related field

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Microsoft Office programs
  • Knowledge of material handling equipment
  • Ability to operate Android or iOS based mobile devices
