About the position

The Store Manager I is responsible for delivering exceptional customer service while achieving sales and financial goals in accordance with company standards. This role involves leading a team of retail professionals, managing their performance, and ensuring operational excellence within the store. The Store Manager I plays a crucial role in promoting UScellular products and services, fostering a high-performance culture, and ensuring compliance with company policies.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver outstanding customer service and achieve operating objectives, sales, and financial goals.
  • Lead a team of retail professionals, including Retail Wireless Consultants and/or Assistant Manager.
  • Provide clear expectations and timely feedback to team members, evaluating performance and seeking continuous improvement.
  • Achieve sales goals by planning, teaching, motivating, mentoring, and providing feedback to associates.
  • Promote UScellular products and services to new and existing customers to meet sales targets.
  • Maintain store performance through coaching and accountability, monitoring individual and team performance.
  • Teach sales team effective selling tools and techniques, including prospecting, qualifying needs, and problem-solving.
  • Oversee daily operational processes within the retail store according to company guidelines.
  • Select, train, and develop team members, ensuring they are equipped with necessary tools and knowledge.
  • Promote customer advocacy by meeting the needs of customers and creating positive engagement.
  • Identify associates with advancement potential and provide ongoing development to build skills and capabilities.
  • Oversee successful onboarding for newly hired associates.
  • Ensure store scheduling and allocation of resources for optimum customer service.
  • Safeguard and monitor loss prevention procedures to minimize shrinkage.
  • Lead marketing efforts in community involvement and brand promotion.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and required trainings.
  • Attend required training programs and assist with leading training as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • At least two years of sales management experience.
  • One or more years of leadership or management experience.
  • Experience in building, motivating, and leading teams.
  • Experience in coaching, organizing, planning work assignments, and delegating duties.
  • Flexibility to work a schedule that includes nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Experience leading in a fast-paced retail sales environment.
  • Proficient in managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows applications.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • Wireless and/or retail sales management experience.
  • Familiarity with various mobile software applications and operating systems (Android, Apple).
  • Prior experience networking with the local community and supporting small business customers.
  • Experience with Point of Sale (POS) systems.
  • Experience with computerized pricing and inventory control systems.
