About the position

The Store Manager In Training (SMIT) role at CVS Health is a development-focused position designed to prepare individuals for a future Store Manager role. The program spans 16 weeks and includes both virtual and hands-on learning experiences aimed at enhancing leadership skills. Participants will engage with various leaders within the organization to support their growth and development as future store leaders.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in a self-paced, collaborative training program over 16 weeks.
  • Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing to support and lead the team.
  • Perform customer care duties to ensure high levels of service.
  • Execute merchandising strategies to drive store sales growth.
  • Manage store inventory and assets to maintain profitability.
  • Engage with leaders in Key Learning Experiences to support promotion efforts.
  • Support the store as a management team member and uphold CVS values and policies.
  • Encourage colleagues to support the company's purpose of helping people on their path to better health.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED is required.
  • Bachelor's Degree is preferred or relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of a college degree.
  • Retail management experience or experience as a CVS Supervisor is preferred.
  • Willingness to accept a promotion to Store Manager role at any location in the designated market.
  • Ability to transfer to other CVS Pharmacy stores within the designated market.
  • Ability to work a schedule that may vary based on business needs.
