About the position

The Store Manager In Training (SMIT) position at CVS Health is a development-focused role designed to prepare individuals for a future Store Manager position. This program spans 16 weeks and includes both virtual and hands-on learning experiences aimed at enhancing leadership skills. Participants will engage with various leaders and team members to support their growth and development within the company, ultimately aiming for a promotion to Store Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing to support and lead the team.
  • Perform customer care duties to ensure high levels of service.
  • Execute merchandising strategies to drive store sales growth.
  • Manage store inventory and assets to maintain profitability.
  • Engage actively with leaders in Key Learning Experiences to support promotion efforts during the training program.
  • Support the store as a management team member and lead in alignment with CVS values and policies.
  • Encourage colleagues to support the company's purpose of helping people on their path to better health.
  • Be open to accepting promotion roles within the designated market.

Requirements

  • Willingness to accept a promotion to Store Manager role at any location in the designated market.
  • Ability to transfer to other CVS Pharmacy stores within the designated market.
  • Ability to work a schedule that may vary based on business needs.
  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • Retail management experience or experience as a CVS Supervisor.

Nice-to-haves

  • A four-year college degree is preferred, or relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of a college degree.
