About the position
Yesway is seeking a Store Manager in Training to join our team. This position will report directly to the Store Manager. As a Store Manager in Training, you will assist the Store Manager with various management responsibilities, including the training and development of employees and overseeing store operations. You will play a crucial role in scheduling employees for shifts and resolving any store issues, including customer concerns. Compliance with all required regulations and requirements is essential, and you will assist with audits and ensure proper placement and stocking of merchandise. Your focus will be on ensuring hospitality for all store guests by overseeing timely guest transactions and monitoring profits through end-of-day procedures, shrink indicators, lottery, stock audits, vendors, car wash operations, and retail waste. This position is designed to prepare you for a future role as a Store Manager, and you will be expected to perform other duties as assigned.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Store Manager with management responsibilities including training and development of employees and store responsibilities.
- Assist in scheduling employees for shifts.
- Assist in resolving store issues including customer concerns.
- Ensure compliance with all required regulations and requirements.
- Assist with audits and proper placement and stocking of merchandise.
- Ensure hospitality for all store guests by overseeing timely guest transactions.
- Monitor profits through end of day procedures, shrink indicators, lottery, stock audits, vendors, car wash operations and retail waste.
- Train to become a Store Manager.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Successful completion of required certification testing as needed.
- Valid driver's license required.
- One or more years' experience supervising others preferred; supervising others in a fast food, restaurant, retail or convenience store operations preferred.
