About the position

The Store Manager In-Training position at Serv-U-Success is designed for experienced managers who are passionate about mentoring and training others. This role focuses on building a high-performance team by recruiting, coaching, and providing the necessary tools for success. The position involves participating in a comprehensive training program at the flagship store, preparing the individual to manage their primary store location effectively while learning the unique processes of Serv-U.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and coach store teams consisting of Assistant Store Managers and Store Representatives.
  • Work with Talent Acquisition and Development Coordinators to source and hire capable Assistant Store Managers and Store Representatives.
  • Maintain the integrity and timeliness of data and mPlans reported in the store.
  • Schedule resources to support daily requirements and maintain flexibility within planned budgets.
  • Monitor and adjust operations as conditions warrant.
  • Maintain a clean, orderly, and efficient Backroom, managing the receipt, put-away, and issue of product and service materials.
  • Support accurate Balance on Hand and inventory counts, training other employees to perform the same.
  • Communicate results to in-store management and coordinate the planning and execution of complex service projects.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree or equivalent education and related experience required.
  • 3 - 8 years in a service industry, with some supervisory or leadership experience.
  • Results-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated ability and desire to build and lead teams in a positive work environment.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to utilize technology, primarily personal devices.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in grocery or Direct Store Delivery (DSD) functions.
  • Familiarity with Serv-U policies and standard operating procedures.
