About the position

The Store Manager in Training at Advance Auto Parts is a professional-level sales and management position focused on inspiring the team, enhancing customer success, and driving business growth with integrity. This role involves understanding store and automotive systems, managing customer relationships, achieving financial metrics, and maintaining service standards. The position requires a commitment to working 50-55 hours per week, including nights and weekends, to meet the needs of the business.

Responsibilities

• Achieve overall store sales goals and service objectives
• Manage and grow Professional Customer relationships/sales
• Selection, hiring, development, performance management, coaching, scheduling, and engagement of store Team Members
• Ensure execution of all inventory and operational standards
• Coach all Team Members to deliver on Customer expectations
• Manager on duty responsibilities including coaching, floor/phone management, task assignment, and safety
• Lead change management initiatives
• Provide DIY service including battery installation and testing

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• 1 year of supervising experience
• 2-3 years of experience managing a team in a retail environment
• Valid driver's license
• Ability to communicate effectively in English; Spanish is a plus
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
• Financial acumen and ability to analyze P&L statements
• ASE Certification preferred but not required

Nice-to-haves

• Bachelor's degree in business or a related area
• Experience in automotive systems
• Ability to become ASE P2 certified or ASE ready equivalent
